ALEXIS MACKINTOSH, DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH

Ms. Mackintosh leads a team of researchers developing a patent pending, catalyzed steam process to convert wet woody biomass to a solid biofuel.  A Vancouver native, Ms. Mackintosh has worked researching the production of biofuels from cellulosic waste since the early 2000’s.  She has authored 8 patents concerning the conversion of cellulosic materials to a solid biofuel using hydrothermal polymerization and is the co-author of two patent applications concerning renewable energy.  Alexis received her B.Sc. in Chemistry from SFU in 1979 and her B.A. from SFU in 1988.  When not working on biofuel research Alexis can be found out photographing nature with her Beagle dog Georgie.
